Centerbacks

I don’t think I could have been any more impressed by Shkodran Mustafi‘s performance against Wolverhampton. Not even that he did a lot, or exceeded expectations, or did so much that we only won because of him, but that he started so poorly and then turned it around and settled in brilliantly.

He’ll keep his spot on that right-hand side of the backline.

David Luiz was also impressive in how well he was able to adjust. I was placing bets that he’d get a stupid, second yellow after he got that first one, but lo and behold what he did instead was play a tremendous match. He’ll keep his spot in the center.

Sead Kolasinac was the weak link on the day, as much as I hate to say it. He continuously let runners in behind him, as he has been doing, and Adama Traore would have punished us if he could only finish better. So by my estimation, that merits a swap for Rob Holding, who should have been out there anyway.

On to the wingbacks.
