Central Midfield

There are some emerging selection questions in the central midfield as well. Not least of all because Joe Willock was a masterclass in his 15 minutes against Wolves. I want to see more of him as soon as possible, and part of me is optimistic that Mikel Arteta will spot Dani Ceballos a rest and give Willock the green light.

But I don’t think that will happen. This is a huge match, one that we need our most proven players for, and as much momentum as Willock has, he hasn’t caught up to Ceballos yet. Although that could change really quickly against Leicester if Ceballos starts poorly. He was hit and miss against Wolves.

Still, expect Ceballos to get the start.

And next to him, Granit Xhaka will keep his spot. Mikel Arteta is quite fond of the Swiss midfielder and rightfully so. He brings such a coolness and composure to the starting XI that was subtly invaluable against Wolves. We’ll need that again here.

Lastly, our front three.
