Centre-Backs

Arsenal. SHKODRAN MUSTAFI. 7.6. It’s so nice being able to rely on him, though I’m still hesitant to do so. He’s so good that he’s even defending well outside of his usual zone. He bombarded into the midfield to defend up there, and he did so successfully. He’s fearless in the air. Our best defender by a long shot and all three played pretty well. Frightening to see him get spiked for fear that we’d lose him, but he came back and stuck to Vardy like a backpack on several occasions to deny him space in dastardly positions. Literally the only time he didn’t lock down Vardy, it came back to bite.. CB

DAVID LUIZ. 7.4. His long balls were on point today. I don’t have much else to say about him, which is always a good thing. The less Luiz, the better.. CB. Arsenal

7.3. So much better. Much more engaged than he was against Wolverhampton. Much more composed. Just better overall. He’s just not very good when you ask him to stay in one area, but if he gets the chance to get forward, to roam a bit, then you start to see him with dynamic performances like this.. CB. Arsenal.
