Such has been the form of Emi Martinez.
Martinez has been crying out for a chance to be given a run as No. 1 in the league, and so far he looks like he belongs in that position.
Commanding and confident in his penalty area, as well as a great shot-stopper, Emi impressed again against Leicester and if it wasn’t for a debatable offside goal he would have had four clean sheets in five games.
Ever since the days of David Seaman and Jens Lehmann, we have struggled with having a goalkeeper at the club who has given real confidence that he can win us points single-handedly, and, currently, we are spoilt for choice with Leno and Martinez.
At this point, it would be very harsh to drop Martinez for Leno, and whoever is first choice next season, neither goalkeeper is going to be happy about being a No. 2. This is another tricky decision that Mikel Arteta will have to make and one will have to be made that keeps both parties happy.
