While players will never openly admit to chasing personal and individual records and honours, make no mistake, they are acutely aware of the achievements that are within their grasp. For no position is this more true than centre-forward. They are goalscorers, and they know precisely where they stand in the respective goalscoring charts.

In his first full season at Arsenal, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was named the co-Golden Boot winner alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. This year, he is just about within touching distance of the title again, currently sitting three goals behind Jamie Vardy and one behind Danny Ings. He will still believe that he can earn the award.

Vardy also faces Manchester United. The chances of him scoring even one are significantly reduced. Aubameyang, on the other hand, needs a hat-trick. It is unlikely and will be difficult, but you can bet your bottom dollar he will be trying his damndest to get it.
