Reiss Nelson Enjoys a Breakout Campaign

With Saka establishing himself in the engine room, another academy graduate has a chance to prosper. Reiss Nelson will finally take the next step in his career.

Arsenal lack forward depth and new arrival Willian could be the only challenger separating Nelson from a starting berth on the left-hand side. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seems destined for the centre-forward role in 2020/21 if Alexandre Lacazette departs, and Gabriel Martinelli has a long-term injury.

Do not be surprised if Nelson is directly involved in 12+ goals this season. His loan spell at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – where he contributed eight goal contributions (seven goals and one assist) in 23 Bundesliga games – serves as evidence that the above-mentioned number is attainable. Provided that he stays fit, which has been an issue for the young man from Elephant and Castle, he has all the tools and will have plenty of opportunities to silence his doubters. The time is now for Reiss Nelson.
