Goalkeeper

Arsenal, Bernd Leno

Now the goalkeeper situation is confirmed with Emiliano Martinez moving on to Aston Villa, the uncertainty over who should start in net can be put to bed.

In truth, the only real concern at this point is whether Bernd Leno‘s form will drop off as he has no outright competition to challenge him. Matt Macey is not running him close at the moment, nor will the expected arrival of the 25-year-old Icelandic keeper Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson, thus he may not feel the pressure that is required to keep him on his toes. Perhaps?

No chance. Leno went through last season in almost identical circumstances to this term, as Martinez was never expected to properly compete for the number one spot. Despite all that, he still excelled and will continue to excel from hereon in.

A top goalkeeper and an absolute certainty to start.
