In the quest for salvation, Dominik Szoboszlai has become an Arsenal saviour.

No one player will absolve Arsenal of their creative issues, but Dominik Szoboszlai would certainly help their plight.

Across the squad Arsenal are short of quality and game-changers. Players who can carve open sides by their own doing and burst through lines with intent. Major restructuring needs to take place in the team with a collective improvement a necessity, but the added guile of someone such as Szoboszlai would go some way towards making Arsenal a more potent attacking unit.

His name is the name everyone is gossiping about, mostly due to his availability at just £23m in the coming January window. Such opportunities are rare occasions and his age profile matches the strategy the club should be aiming for.

Faced with the stern task of competing against half of Europe for his signature, who proposes the best project will be key to securing his signature.

With offers due to come in in their droves over the coming weeks, Paweł Grabowski of Newonce Sport claim Arsenal have already submitted a proposal for the Hungarian prodigy.

"“Szoboszlai already has offers from Arsenal, Milan and other European clubs. His agent Matyas Esterhazy appears in the Hungarian media almost every day.”"

It’s common for offers to be made prior to transfer windows opening, usually in the form of verbal agreements so terms can be agreed in advance. Despite that, no conclusion on the matter is expected soon.

His departure is inevitable and the likelihood of him staying at Red Bull Salzburg beyond January grows thinner by the day. It would, already at this stage, be a big surprise for him to see out the season with Die Roten Bullen.

Arsenal have been tipped to grant Salzburg the chance to keep Szoboszlai for the remainder of the campaign as a compromise if they win the race, but Arsenal’s needs are now, not in the upcoming summer.

Interestingly in all of this is the interest from AC Milan, who along with RB Leipzig, are the side most keen on the 20-year-old. It’s fair to say, if Arsenal miss out on Szoboszlai to Ivan Gazidis, the agony will extend. The man behind much of the appalling recruitment the Gunners still reel from, snatching one of the continents biggest talents from under our nose. Please, no.
