Midfielders

Mohamed Elneny (CM) – Showing his experience against Dundalk he offered a calming presence in the midfield, topped off with an absolute screamer. In need of legs in that department, Arteta is likely to recall him to the team.

Alexandre Lacazette (AM) – While the ploy didn’t pay off against Sp*rs, Alexandre Lacazette couldn’t be accused of lacking fight as he battled his way around the pitch. There were a few opportunities he didn’t take advantage of, but having not travelled to Ireland the likelihood is that he’ll keep his spot in midfield.

It still feels weird to say that.

Granit Xhaka (CM) – It was as if he was playing in treacle last week. Every decision was unhurried and even when he eventually played the ball it was at a leisurely pace. Unfortunately it wasn’t a one-off occurrence. So slow, so infuriating, so definitely starting on Sunday.
