Maitland-Niles, Arsenal

Midfielders & Wing-Backs

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (RWB) – 6/10 – Good outing from Maitland-Niles at right-back. Not as refined as you’d like, but his side was the most protected throughout where he got stuck in on enough occasions.

Dani Ceballos (CM) – 6/10 – The only midfielder making line-breaking passes and willing to challenge for the ball. Some of his balls were excellent up towards the forward line, although even he was guilty of some needless errors. Was hauled off for fresh legs, and because he was booked.

Mohamed Elneny (CM) – 5/10 – Nowhere near the level he’s shown in patches this season during the opening stages. A very poor first half improved after the break, where he managed to turn in possession and get his head up. Still, not good enough.

Bukayo Saka (LWB) – 8/10 – We’re nothing without Bukayo Saka. Nothing.

This young man has personality, desire and the kind of quality that feels so lost in a side dearly lacking in it.
