Forwards

Nicolas Pepe (RW) – 5/10 – Picked up some decent positions in the first half and wasn’t afraid to make diagonal runs into the Saints’ box. Pressed well too, but his influence lessened dramatically after the sending off where he played almost entirely as a lone forward.

Eddie Nketiah (ST) – 5/10 – Some of his link-up in the first half was neat, coming short to play one-twos to make space for the wingers. Not all that often, mind. Wasn’t involved in the game enough but his touch for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s goal was delightful.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (LW) – 6/10 – Was far more involved playing out on the left, touching the ball more often and able to link up with Saka. He too barely touched the ball after the red card, but his goal was well-taken.

Substitutes

Joe Willock – 6/10 – Spent the entire of his outing standing in front of the back four, but on the rare foray forward he helped ease the mounting pressure Arsenal faced.

David Luiz – 7/10 – Stood strong after coming on and was excellent dealing with deliveries into the box.

Cedric Soares – N/A – Wasn’t on long enough to earn a rating.
