Midfielders & Wing-Backs

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (RWB) – 5/10 – A mixed bag in defending one of either Richarlison or Ben Godfrey, sometimes losing the duel to easily while other times doing enough. Did well in winning the penalty and showed endeavour, at least. Played a a ball at the end that should have been converted.

Mohamed Elneny (CM) – 4/10 – It was another sub-par showing from Elneny, who’s short but sweet string of early season form is beginning to fizzle out. At the end of the day, he’s on OK player who has been performing beyond his capabilities in a side weak all over.

Dani Ceballos (CM) – 4/10 – Lucky to be on the pitch? Impossible to tell whether it was intentional or not but he could easily have walked for that perceived stamp. Aside from that, he didn’t have the necessary quality in areas where it was desired. He just wasn’t very good.

Bukayo Saka (LWB) – 6/10 – Any of Arsenal’s better moves came through some combination involving Bukayo Saka, who if anything wasn’t on the ball enough. The interchanging with Tierney almost saw him play left-back more than left-winger.

Nonetheless, he was, as usual, one of the biggest threats and one of the few players showing for the ball.
