Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

It’s already been mentioned, but winning the FA Cup was the best moment of the year. Nothing came even remotely close.

And, truth be told, Arsenal may not have come close at all had it not have been for the intervention of the club captain.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is having a season to forget in the Premier League this term, as many are, but as the provider of the happiest sporting moment for fans of the club this year, it’s those times that must be cherished. That 2-1 win over Chelsea is being cherished even more now given the current predicament.

When he turned Kurt Zouma inside out and dinked the ball over Willy Caballero, the roars heard across the globe were unmatched. He was exceptional, capping off another superb individual year in which he carried us through 2019/20. As if that wasn’t enough, he bagged the goal against Liverpool in the Community Shield, too.

But for that winning goal in the FA Cup final (which everyone must have heard with Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ playing over, I hope) brought enough happiness alone to warrant a place on Santa’s ‘Nice List’.
