Midfielders

Mohamed Elneny (RCM) – 5/10 – Gave the ball away in dangerous areas too often. Worked tirelessly as per usual.

Granit Xhaka (LCM) – 7/10 – Straight back into the team after his suspension and lots of criticism, his excellent pass led to the penalty and his thunderbolt doubled the lead before the interval. A composed return.

Emile Smith Rowe (CAM) – 7/10 – His cameo appearances have warranted more minutes, and the youngster was positive and bright from the offset. Deserves to keep his place against Brighton.
