Forwards

Bukayo Saka (RW) – 8/10 – A mixed bag for Saka, who showed the willingness and determination off the ball but struggled to produce on it in the first half. There were some poor corners and questionable decisions in possession, although coupled with some committed defensive work-rate.

But…..everything came off after the break and he was his usual excellent self. What a player. What a talent. That assist? Glorious.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ST) – 3/10 – It’s hard to mark him down for not touching the ball. However, whether it’s tactical or not, he just wasn’t pressing. Sure, there were times where the pass was on for him and his teammates opted to go elsewhere, but he wasn’t involved at all. He has to do more.

Gabriel Martinelli (LW) – 6/10 – It was Gabriel Martinelli who was pressing with intent while he was on, unlike his captain who was distinctly less willing. There was little he did wrong until he was (surprisingly) hauled off for Lacazette.
