Best Assist: Bukayo Saka

Whoops!

Any goal that comes as the result of a nutmeg is a fine goal. Bukayo Saka‘s delightful piece of skill to evade two Newcastle defenders included just that.

It’s hard to know what was better, the skill or the wonderful interview after the match where Saka and his captain laugh and joke about how glorious it was.

After making Lazaro look silly, he picked his head up and found Nicolas Pepe, who did the rest.

Best Goal: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Strong arguments can be made for there being better team goals, or just simply better strikes of the ball than Aubameyang’s winner against Chelsea in the FA Cup final, but we’re not having any of that.

Firstly, it won Arsenal the FA Cup, and secondly, he had Kurt Zouma on toast then watched on as Willy Caballero’s head reflected the ball as it dinked its way over him into the net.

Hector Bellerin‘s run in the build-up wasn’t too shabby either. It’s a brilliant goal and the most watched one this year. For good reason.

Take a bow, captain.

Best Player & Young Player of 2020: Bukayo Saka

Normally split into two separate categories, the award for Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year can only go to one man: Bukayo Saka.

2020 has been a fine individual spell for Saka, who’s cemented his place as an Arsenal regular while also becoming a feature in the England national squad.

Arsenal would be nothing without him. How mad/incredible/sad/true is that?
