Player Ratings as Arsenal cruise past a poor West Brom side in Midlands’ snow.

Where did that come from!?

Arsenal played by far their best football of the season as they sweeped past a struggling West Bromwich Albion. Goals from Tierney, Saka and Lacazette rubber stamped a quite special collective outing.

Saka’s goal was the key moment of the night. It really felt like the Arsenal of old as the Gunners’ man of the moment coolly completed a sweeping team move. Defensively, Arsenal were untroubled throughout the evening.

Long may the strong form continue. Not only have Arsenal started winning games, but their fans are also seeing glimpses of attractive football. The calibre of Arsenal’s overall performance lately was nothing but a pipe dream a few weeks ago.

Onto the ratings.

Goalkeeper and Defenders

Bernd Leno (GK) – 7 – Strong performance from Leno. Commanding with crosses and set-pieces and comfortable on the ball. The German is enjoying a fine run of form at the moment and collected a well deserved clean sheet tonight.

Hector Bellerin (RB) – 7- Departed from the scene shortly after half-time but performed well prior to being hooked. He linked up play expertly on the right hand-side and looks to be performing a very promising partnership with Bukayo Saka on the flank.

Rob Holding (CB) – 6 – A decent night’s work from from Rob Holding. Barely troubled defensively and once again looked confident on the ball apart from one scary moment at the end of the first half. Mr. Reliable.

Pablo Marì (CB) – 7 – Pablo Marì has settled in superbly since beginning to deputise for Gabriel on at left centre-half. Particularly on the ball, the Spaniard has more than held his weight. It might be time for Gabriel to start looking over his shoulder.

Kieran Tierney (LB) – 9 – You could tell from the first second that Kieran Tierney was relishing the opportunity to play in familiar snowy conditions. The Scottish international grabbed himself an extremely impressive goal and then went on to grab an assist while setting-up Alex Lacazette’s second of the night. A memorable offensive outing.
