Arsenal vs Newcastle Score Prediction

FA Cup third round weekend is one of the best in the English football calendar. Of course, it’s immeasurably better when there are supporters filling the stands, not least for the lesser sides travelling to the ‘big boys’, but it’s still a time to savour.

Arsenal don’t have any minnows to face and instead have Premier League opposition in their way, a Newcastle side who simply don’t give a toss about a good cup run.

Steve Bruce and many managers before him have always fielded weakened sides in this competition, a viewpoint not shared by their supporters who want to see their side reach the latter stages.

Bruce will set his side up for a hit and run, break-us-down-if-you-can type approach, one Arsenal should be able to contend with. It’ll be a totally different side to the one who took on West Brom, one without Bukayo Saka or Emile Smith Rowe, but the firepower that come in should have enough to deal with the Magpies.

Set-pieces is where Newcastle may have most joy, but Arsenal have a very good record this season at defending them and a central defensive partnership of Chambers and Mari will help nullify that threat. Unless, that is, Cedric gets left to mark Andy Carroll…

It likely won’t be the most entertaining fixture of the round. The Gunners should absolutely take it seriously, mind you, and I believe that’ll see them through.
