Nicolas Pepe (RW) – 6/10 – The Ivorian showcased his ability to dribble past players well, however the winger once again over-elaborated at times and nullified the danger of himself by over-thinking things on a number of occasions. The record signing was subbed off for Alexandre Lacazette after playing until the end of the first half of extra-time.

Reiss Nelson (LW) – 5/10 – Reiss Nelson was not supposed to be starting in the fixture, however, after an injury to Martinelli, the 21-year-old was given the nod. He looked a threat throughout the first 45, but despite getting into good positions, the Englishman was unable to pull off the final ball. The last minute inclusion was subbed off in the 56 minute.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ST) – 7/10 – The captain had the only real chance of the first half after finding acres of space on the right, unfortunately, his tight angled shot was fired right at the keeper. In the second half he did have a few chances that he was unable to capitalize on – most of which were half-chances.

The captain scored the second goal in extra-time after a beautiful sequence with Xhaka and Tierney to seal the win.
