Substitutes

Emile Smith Rowe – 8/10 – The enthusiastic youngster changed the game and added vigor to the previously lackluster and predictable attack.  He was nearly sent off but VAR showed that the challenge was not nearly as bad as it first looked. The blonde Kevin De Bruyne took advantage of staying on the pitch by scoring the game winner in extra-time.

Granit Xhaka – 7/10 – The Swiss international added the composure which Willock lacked in the middle of the park. The change made sense on paper, but it did not make Arsenal any more threatening in regular time. After the 90 finished, however, he made his presence known with a tremendous effort saved well by Dubravka. He then put Saka in with a great chance and contributed to the second goal too.

Bukayo Saka – 7/10 – Saka brought more to the table than Willian and had a lot to do with the game winner finding Lacazette who assisted the game winner with his noggin.

Alexandre Lacazette – 7/10 – Lacazette has been in brilliant form recently and his introduction helped see the Gunners to victory. The former Lyon man found Smith-Rowe well with a header for the game winning goal.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles- N/A- Many were calling for a start for Maitland-Niles, but he was only given a few minutes of action.
