Leicester vs Arsenal Score Prediction
Taking the clubs’ respective Europa League performances into account makes this fixture tough to call. Take into account both sides’ Premier League seasons, however, and it’s cut and dry for Leicester to steal the points.
Against Slavia Prague, the Foxes sorely missed the presences of James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. The former has likely already booked his ticket to the Euros with England, while the latter can’t do much more to earn himself a spot on the plane.
Both absent on Thursday, Leicester were poor in the final third and uncertain in their own half, with Youri Tielemans unable to assume the No. 10 role as well as he does the No. 8, and even at the back last season’s Team of the Year centre-back Caglar Soyuncu has looked off the pace.
In other words, it’s a good time to play Leicester. That is, of course, with Maddison missing out.
Rodgers has not put a timeline on his return but confirmed he will be out for this weekend, and without him the links in midfield aren’t as fluid, while every Arsenal fan’s worst nightmare Vardy doesn’t pose as great of a threat.
The worry is that Arsenal will be too fatigued. Arteta’s men will have a week-long break until they face Burnley next so the urge will be there to field a similar side as in Greece before granting much of his side deserved time off. It’s risky if not essential, as the thought of any Arsenal side without Saka is frightening.
Just as in the Manchester City clash, Arsenal will have to be at their best and hope the Foxes aren’t as the races. Even without Maddison they still boast talent across the pitch and Rodgers’ style is wise in managing to squeeze out the best from each of his players. He likes to get technical, ball-playing operators as high up the pitch he can, making them a threat against anyone.
Given the circumstances a draw won’t do for the Gunners, but a draw it may be.
