Arsenal Team News vs Burnley

The win over Leicester was as close to perfect as Arsenal have had this season: a first victory away from home over a side sitting in the top three since that Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin victory over Manchester City, key players rested and Nicolas Pepe playing out of his skin.

There was still the regular early sloppiness that has hamstrung the club throughout the campaign, as the team combined to grant Youri Tielemans the freedom of the east midlands to fire beyond Bernd Leno, however; the only true downside was the injury sustained to Emile Smith Rowe.

Starting the match in place of Martin Odegaard who played the full 90 minutes against Benfica, the 20-year-old was forced off shortly before half-time with a muscular injury he couldn’t carry on with. Arteta was initially worried about the issue, but later allayed fears of a long-term absence.

"“Emile had a scan yesterday, it doesn’t look a significant injury but he was in discomfort,” Arteta said. “For the rest, hopefully everybody should be okay.”"

Whatever the length of time he will be sidelined for, there is no need to rush him back for Saturday and Odegaard will come in to the side. As for other absentees, Arsenal have a remarkably clean bill of health with only Runar Alex Runarsson suffering from any sort of issue, even if he’d play no part regardless.

For the hosts, Chris Wood was a welcome returnee from injury in the recent 1-1 draw with Leicester. Ashley Barnes and winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson are both sidelined with thigh injuries and unlikely to be fit in time for the weekend while Robbie Brady is also a doubt.
