Leaked images have been revealed that all-but confirm the new Arsenal 2021/22 home kit, with the strip being an apparent nod to the club’s late 90’s kits.

Football attire is a wicked mistress that plays on one’s love for their club and pulls on the purse strings even when there are precious few legitimate reasons to be splashing out.

Following Sunday’s 2-1 North London Derby win over Tottenham, Arsenal have now released the same number of kits and training gear (12) as they have victories in the Premier League this season.

The new adidas kit deal has been exceedingly beneficial to the Gunners, even beyond their superb kit designs. The £60m-per-year contract has helped in lessening the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, one that has ravished club finances after recording losses of almost £50m for the year ending May 2020.

Entering the fray after Puma, the German sportswear giants have released some superb strips in their two seasons, with both of the home kits since, and the other strips, drawing widespread acclaim for their designs.

Heading into the new campaign, the ever-reliable Footy Headlines have leaked their exclusive look at what Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the gang will be donning next season, with a nod to the Dreamcast kits at the turn of the century.

2020/21’s home attire saw the use of a darker shade of red, but the newest leaks reintroduce the ‘scarlet’ shade with white sleeves and side panels.

Also, for the first time since adidas returned, the famous three stripes will come in navy blue, similar to the 1999/00 kit, which had navy piping from the edge of the sleeves and down the side panels. This may be unintentional.

The kit will use the ‘Condivo 21 template’, similar to the leaked Juventus kit for next season, whose kits are also manufactured by adidas. It was expected that the legendary canon badge would make a return, although this is expected to feature on the away strips in 2021/22.

It’s a nice kit, but the neck line stands out as the least endearing feature. Call us old fashioned, but a simple bowl collar would’ve worked just fine. For a glimpse into how it could look on the players, Twitter user @afcxman produced a mock-up of Emile Smith Rowe donning the new gear.
