Nicolas Pépé (RW) – After Bukayo Saka picked up a slight hamstring injury against Sp*rs at the weekend, he’ll be left out of the firing line against Olympiacos. Nicolas Pépé, a man in a rich vein of form and a superb understudy for Saka, should start on the right and view Saka’s absence as a chance to cement a starting spot.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ST) – It’d be wise to expect an angry performance from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Thursday. Understandably, he looked furious to be left out of the starting XI as a result of arriving at Sunday’s pre-game meeting slightly late. Nevertheless, almost universally within the Arsenal faithful, there’s a consensus that Arteta made the correct decision.

Aubameyang will know the best way for him to respond will be on the pitch, scoring goals. The club captain should aim to show his manager what his team was often missing in front of goal during the NLD – a poacher. And at his best, there aren’t many better poachers in world football than the captain.

Next. New balance. dark

Willian (LW) – Finally, on the left-wing, Willian will likely return to the starting XI. He appears to be second fiddle to Smith Rowe on the left in terms of Arteta’s first choice team and with the Englishman moving infield it’d make sense for Willian to reclaim his spot out wide.
