Forwards

Nicolas Pepe (RW) – With Arteta claiming that Saka may miss out on England duty, it will require some recovery to be fit to start against West Ham.

Nicolas Pepe will be told to get at Aaron Cresswell who, despite having a fine season for the Hammers, doesn’t possess the speed to keep up with the Ivorian. Pepe has been superb of late even if it’s only been dabbles off the bench.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ST) – Love it or hate it after Thursday night, my bet is that Arteta will stick with his captain for the weekend. Keeping him out for the full 90′ may suggest otherwise, but while his mental fragility must be questioned, Arteta will know damaging that further will serve Arsenal no good.

With a Europa League run to come, Aubameyang will still have a huge say in how this season pans out. He may just put the Olympiacos display down to an off day. Maybe.

Emile Smith Rowe (LW) – It was not the usual impressive night’s work for Smith Rowe against Olympiacos, and perhaps his worst performance of the season since coming into the side.

Next. No excuses. dark

The whole team was poor, though. General laziness on the ball was a common factor throughout, and the addition of Dani Ceballos in the No. 10 role didn’t bring out the finer qualities in him that someone like Odegaard does.
