The international break is generally unwelcome. As football fans, club action dominates the fixture list and is seen as the more exciting variation of the sport available, with England vs San Marino hardly setting the pulses racing. Fortunately, there are enough Arsenal players jetting off this month to keep us interested for the next two weeks.

Being the multi-national side they are, Mikel Arteta will see 15 of his players depart London Colney to link up with their respective national teams.

A combination of World Cup qualifiers, Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and friendly matches will take place to ensure there is still some football worth tuning in for.

Perhaps even more exciting are the first time call-ups as well as return call-ups for players who are either yet to represent their countries or have been left to wait a while to don their national strip.
