Arsenal Want to Sign Paulo Dybala From Juventus

Leonardo Spinazzola, Joao Cancelo, Moise Kean and Emre Can are just a few of those they’ve had to part with to continue paying his astronomical salary, while his place in the team has pushed Dybala to the periphery.

They’ll need to sanction more sales this summer, both for financial reasons and because Andrea Pirlo is set to press the rest button at the Allianz Stadium, with a mass exodus expected.

Dybala, who memorably came close to joining Tottenham in the summer of 2019, has a deal in Turin that runs out in 2022. Everything points to a departure at the end of the season and as the report puts it, ‘his days are numbered’.

"“We missed Dybala. I think he hasn’t played more than 800 minutes with us this season,” vice president Pavel Nedved told Football Italia. “His presence would give us more options upfront. He has one year left in his contract and I have nothing to add to what Paratici and Agnelli already said. Juventus will evaluate every opportunity in the market.”"

Dybala will not be short of suitors. Chelsea and Tottenham will be back in with interest, and they hold an advantage over Arsenal that most clubs will have: European football.

Tottenham could still end up with nothing and Arsenal could be back in the Champions League, but there’s plenty of ‘ifs’ dotted about in there. Furthermore, even considering his contract situation, Juventus will not let Dybala go on the cheap, as they look to squeeze every penny they can out of interested buyers for him and spark a continent-wide bidding war.

Is it a move Arsenal should pursue? Dybala’s talent is unquestionable.
