Arsenal players are starting to turn on Mikel Arteta with disgruntlement in the camp over the manager’s techniques, attitude and decisions; Thomas Partey’s indifferent form is also said to be down to the manager, according to one report.

They say never kick a man while he’s down but in the media world preying on weakness is a surefire way to garner attention.

90 minutes away from the 2020/21 season officially ending in disaster, the events taking place in north London are more than enough reason for malcontent and criticism. The situation is dire and no amount of sugar coating can re-frame that.

The difference lies in whether it can get better. Arsenal have invested Mikel Arteta to oversee the colossal rebuild at the club as well as shaping the outlook of the side’s playing style, yet The Sun claim it is that very man who is the root of most of the issues, at least in the players’ eyes.

Arsenal players blame Mikel Arteta for Thomas Partey’s indifferent form and question his tactics, behaviour and management

As per the report, senior players are unhappy with how the manager is shifting the blame on them instead of assuming responsibility. This, of course, despite the Spaniard publicly bearing the brunt of the blame after many of the series of woeful performances this season. However, it could be reflecting internal affairs.

His decisions to leave out big names after disappointing results, such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang against Slavia Prague, has irked, mainly because it implies the blame is on them. And with the captain in general, the treatment of Aubameyang, as well as other individuals, is a source of frustration.

An apparent lack of understanding from the boss has seeped into the dressing room – anyone would think this report is trying to unearth another Unai Emery narrative.

To top it all off, these unnamed players are placing the blame on Arteta for Thomas Partey‘s stop-start form. That’s right, his tactics are not getting the best out of the Ghanaian. While there is an air of Partey being asked to do too much, stating that he isn’t allowed to ‘flourish’ under the manager is nonsense.

Concerned with Arteta’s management techniques, lack of team identity and tactics, the situation is turning sour.

Apparently. Maybe. Supposedly.

Next. Arteta's principal weakness. dark

Opportunism in its finest form, or the true extent of the situation coming to light? We like to believe the former despite the indubitable turmoil.
