Midfielders

RCM: Mohamed Elneny – 6.0

Playing as the single pivot gave him room to run, and if there’s one thing Elneny can do, it’s run forever. He did have a bit of trouble covering both Mario Lemina and Andre-Frank Zambo-Anguissa, he wasn’t terribly exposed. Nothing special, and deservedly subbed for Partey.

LCM: Dani Ceballos – 6.5

Looked very sharp in possession. Drifted to the left side, leaving Elneny as a single pivot, and caused the Fulham midfield no end of problems, as he kept popping up in different pockets of space. Looked frustrated not to have scored on two separate occasions, and his performance levels dropped after that, though he did draw a few key fouls.

CAM: Emile Smith Rowe – 5.5

Rotated well with Saka, almost as per protocol at this point. He has this lovely technique on his first touch, where he kills the ball completely dead, and he was very useful in creating space up front. Didn’t impose himself on the game particularly, but did an excellent job of clogging up the midfield. Sloppy when switched to the right wing.
