Arsenal predicted lineup vs West Brom: Martinelli at CF?
Midfielders
Mohamed Elneny (CM) – Depends heavily on whether Granit Xhaka recovers from his muscle soreness sustained prior to Villarreal or not. Thomas Partey looked dead on his feet in midweek and will likely get a rest, and having used this pair to winning effect against Newcastle, Arteta may opt for it once again.
Screamer incoming.
Dani Ceballos (CM) – Someone who should not play for Arsenal again this season. His comments about longing for a return to La Liga and that English football doesn’t suit him hasn’t help his cause, neither does him not being anywhere near the standard required. Nonetheless, to rest Partey and let Xhaka recover, Arteta could well play him. Woe is me.
Martin Odegaard (AM) – The Norwegian did not have a good evening last time out. For now, the lack of sharpness or impact in his game will be put down to him still recovering from his spell on the sidelines, although a repeat performance against a woeful West Brom outfit won’t help settle the tempers of those who claim he’s too inconsistent. Was taken off early on Thursday, indicating his inclusion.
