Arsenal: Humbled, but not done fighting going ahead

The Gunners have been humbled and can perhaps take some solace knowing is was they who sealed their fate with performances against lesser clubs and not an astronomical gap between the top four. Only six points in the end. Arsenal did not cover itself in glory against weaker teams, instead playing down to the competition they fought as opposed to at the level that they are expected to play at week in and week out,

It is these losses and draws that ended the team’s hopes long before any of us realized.

This is usually how it goes, however; the small defeats over the course of the entire war are what doom the final offensive. Arsenal have felt this now, and all of its repercussions. They have no recourse as the FA Cup granted them last season and will have to stew in their own frustrated embarrassment until such a time as they can make up for this season and all that it has meant.

The Gunners will be back and will be better than we’ve seen them this year, yet we will have to continue to be patient as well.

Players that come in this summer will have to make a real impact on the team, as neither the fanbase or the team’s own ambitions will survive too long without midweek trips to play on the continent. Arteta must be given more time, more money and more windows to work through; while he is not perfect, neither is our club and outfit, and so things will have to continue to evolve in real time for things to improve substantially.

Next. The Kroenke’s must sell. dark

Yet they both can and will, and one day, pieces like this will seem a distant memory as the confetti rains down on Arsenal in some competition, whether in Europe or England. Can’t you yet see it in the distance of your minds eye?
