Arsenal Should Make Double Offer for Buendia and Max Aarons

It’s not just one, but two Norwich players that Arsenal are not only keeping their sights on, but should be pushing to sign.

Max Aarons is among the most sought after full-backs in England after another fine season in the Championship. Already he’s had Bayern Munich and Barcelona snooping around for his signature, and this came after their woeful 2019/20 campaign in which he was part of a defence that shipped 75 Premier League goals.

When you can attract such interest despite your team’s flaws then you’re doing something right. Making it into the Championship Team of the Season last term there is an expectation that he’s due for a big move, and just like Buendia, Norwich won’t stand in his way if an acceptable offer arrives.

Arsenal need a right-back and they need homegrown players. They also need the appropriate profile of full-back to come in as first choice, one at a good age, with an attractive skillset and who can contribute to the long-term planning. Aarons is just that.

Given both players are for sale and on the Gunners’ list, this is territory for a double swoop. Selling players first is essential in order to free up funds and once enough is accrued, ideally with some owner backing, testing the waters with an offer for both should arrive.

How much that will take would depend on Norwich’s needs yet offers beginning with a ‘3’ are encouraging. The Canaries don’t want this saga carrying on late into the window as they’re after their own reinforcements, thus a double offer with the potential of Reiss Nelson included in some capacity is on Arsenal would be wise to at least explore.
