Arsenal Midfielders Leaving on Loan

The name most familiar with supporters will be Ben Cottrell, who despite being just 19 is tipped to have a fruitful career ahead of him. An attacking midfielder who can really play anywhere in midfield and even out wide, he captained the Premier League 2 side on a number of occasions and finished the season with four goals and two assists.

Playing 13 minutes in last season’s Europa League is an indicator of his progress so far, and a season away gives him every chance to return with experience behind him.

There will be plenty of suitors for Cottrell, who will embark on his first loan spell away from the club.

As for Tim Akinola, the defensive midfielder played the joint-most minutes for the Under-23 side last season. A big talent, he will have his chance to impress over a full season of first team football.

The standout midfield option in that department was Miguel Azeez, who has been tipped to get his chance with the senior outfit for next season and could well earn some minutes in cup competitions.
