Arsenal propose Bellerin swap with Barcelona & Atletico
Being creative in the transfer window can either be the result of clever recruitment decisions or a byproduct of an unprecedented market forcing alternative solutions. This summer Arsenal are in dire straits when it comes to selling and so long as the player departs, all avenues will be explored.
The case of Hector Bellerin is a relatively simple one. A long-serving member of the club who has been professional and dignified across his Arsenal career, there comes a point where a natural cutting of ties is inevitable.
His situation is certainly that as his form has dipped and his career stalled. All parties are in agreement that it’s time to move on, albeit proving immensely difficult to arrange.
One of a host of members in the squad that both need and want to be moved on, the closest Arsenal had come to agreeing a departure came in the form of Inter. The Italian side have since moved for Denzel Dumfries, which adds to the panoply of issues facing Arsenal in these final stages of the window.

Arsenal propose Hector Bellerin swap with Barcelona & Atletico Madrid as defender grows frustrated with Edu’s inability to find buyer this transfer window
This a move that has to come off, with The Athletic reporting that Bellerin is now growing increasingly frustrated at his situation and is determined to secure an exit this summer. So much so he feels the club are showing a reluctance to move him on.
An unwillingness from Arsenal to sanction a loan with option to buy with Inter is understandable, but it’s brought an end to the most likely destination for Bellerin this summer. The defender’s camp have since taken other options to Edu to analyse, none of which have proven fruitful.
It’s clear that this unsavoury climax to the time of a player who has been a wonderful representative of this club has to be concluded in the next weeks. It’s unlikely that he’ll make another appearance this season with Arteta even calling upon natural left-back Nuno Tavares after Calum Chambers in the recent Brentford defeat. Thus, work is being undertaken to pull a deal off, albeit not at the pace Bellerin, or any fans, would have liked.
Should Bellerin leave than Arsenal can finally secure a replacement, one that is generally considered imperative in the window having seen the difficulties Chambers’ had trying to operate in Arteta’s newer systematic approach.
Given the interested sides in La Liga and Serie A are either unwilling to match the Gunners’ valuation or are financially incapable of doing so, two swap moves have been proposed to find an amicable conclusion.
