Arsenal player ratings vs Tottenham: Derby delight with 3-1 win
Midfielders
Thomas Partey (CM) – 8/10 – Tottenham couldn’t get close to him. He and his partner dominated central areas and left Spurs chasing shadows.
Their efforts to cut lanes to him were futile and his one-touch passing and long distribution was a joy to watch. He is a Rolls Royce.
Granit Xhaka (CM) – 8/10 – Was Xhaka ever going to have a bad game? No need to answer.
There were huge question marks over his inclusion but this is a man who loves adversity. Coming into the side having not played for a while, he broke lines with his passing, brought calmness on the ball and his intervention from Ramsdale’s poor backpass was the springboard for the second goal.
Martin Odegaard (AM) – 8/10 – Got crowed out but always found a way. His energy, enthusiasm and work off the ball was exceptional and the way he always managed to get into space was a crucial component of the way Arsenal set up. Some of the link-up play and one touch passing was brilliant.
Infectious character.
