Premier League table predictions are part of the build-up supporters do in anticipation for the new season: where will Arsenal end up? Who is pinching the title? Will Burnley finally get relegated?

While the top four are near enough solidified now with both Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Chelsea way out in front in terms of squad depth and overall quality, there is always room for some surprises elsewhere.

As the eighth round of fixtures edge nearer after an international break that seemed to go on forever – blame Arsenal’s failure to qualify for Europe – fans of the Premier League can finally get their teeth sunk into domestic action.

Mikel Arteta’s side have to wait though, with Crystal Palace not coming around until Monday.

Super computer predicts Arsenal to finish 11th in Premier League with just one away win as Mikel Arteta’s side net just 21 goals all season

Currently sitting in 11th place, by the time the rest of the division has played Arsenal could drop down the table further, possibly even as low as 15th come the end of the matchweek.

Where will they be come the end of the campaign? Well, Football for All‘s ‘super computer’ has caused quite the stir having predicted its final league table. It’s…interesting to say the least.

Remember the dogged 1-0 away win over Burnley? It’d be best for supporters to savour that since that is set to be the only away victory Arsenal have all season. In all, three points will only be secured eight more times, all on home soil, with Arteta’s men finishing in exactly the same position they’re in now. Consistency!

Oh, and you do you like goals? That’s tough, since Arsenal will only score 21 all season long.

It’s perhaps the most ridiculous ‘predictor’ ever to have emerged. There are talking points galore: Chelsea to only concede one more goal? Southampton to draw 17 games at home? The teams in the bottom half won’t win a single away game for the rest of the campaign?

Ludicrous feels like the apt word. 31 more games to play and Arsenal will only bag 16 more goals? Terrifying. But also hilariously nonsensical which begs the question what data and algorithms are being used to calculate whatever it is that this is?

What is reassuring, however, is that Palace won’t win a single away game all season (win on Monday?) and nor with Aston Villa (win on Friday?) so at least there is some joy on the horizon. This upcoming run of three out of four Premier League games at home best be savoured.

Next. Arsenal must follow City & Foden. dark

Yeah, don’t trust technology.
