Arsenal predicted lineup vs Leeds: 4-3-3 with Martinelli?
Midfielders
Mohamed Elneny (CM) – Having barely played at all this season, the reasons for fielding Elneny would be down to his strength in keeping the ball, no matter how conservatively that may be.
Not afraid to receive possession in tight areas, having one true sitter in midfield could be on the agenda with Thomas Partey likely to be rested.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles (CM) – Sambi would be the preferred choice in midfield to keep continuity from the Villa match, but Maitland-Niles needs the minutes and he’s a positive thinker on the ball which could suit with the more reserved Elneny.
Wouldn’t be at all surprising to see a Sambi and Maitland-Niles partnership, though.
Martin Odegaard (AM) – Left out of the team against Villa indicates strongly that the Norwegian will get the nod in this one. Has to rediscover his rhythm after previous outings and fielding him in his preferred No. 10 slot provides the basis to do so.
A few sprinty, direct forwards ahead of him might not go amiss.
