Arsenal predicted lineup vs Leeds: 4-3-3 with Martinelli?
Forwards
Nicolas Pepe (RW) – As one of the more senior players in this squad let alone this lineup, the man marking system Leeds adopt can be the rise and fall of Pepe. If he can evade his man there is joy to be had for him.
Having not played a minute against Villa he’ll be sure to get the nod.
Alexandre Lacazette (ST) – It would be a huge risk fielding Nketiah who hasn’t played any football at any level since the previous round of this competition, even if the cramping up from Lacazette against Villa is a clear indicator that he’s not near full fitness yet.
However, if he can get through another 60 minutes or so in this one then he will play. Aubameyang is being reserved for the Premier League and with the other forwards in the side both being direct attackers, someone to link that all together and dovetail with Odegaard is needed.
Gabriel Martinelli (LW) – Since Martinelli and Pepe need to play it seems fitting that the striker in between them is Lacazette.
The biggest victim of there being no European football this season, Martinelli has to make his opportunities count convince Arteta on Tuesday that he warrants being played for the entire 90 minutes.
It’s a huge game for the Brazilian.
