Arsenal Team News vs Leicester – Will Tierney & Odegaard be Back?

There were hearts in mouths against Leeds when Benjamin White fell to the floor early in the second half and had to be substituted. Looking hugely impressive of late, supporters were relieved to hear from Arteta that the issue wasn’t injury related and instead down to a bug that had been circulating around the camp.

He should therefore to fit to take on the Foxes, although Rob Holding going down towards the end of the match did appear to be injury related.

Two other absentees from that match were Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard. Arteta also provided an update on the pair and the hope is they will be fit for Saturday.

"“[Tierney and Odegaard] tried yesterday but didn’t feel great,” he said. “Hopefully in the next few days they can feel better and be available against Leicester”."

The cause of Odegaard’s absence isn’t known, whereas Tierney has been suffering from a bruised ankle. Nuno Tavares is fit and able in the case of the Scot recovering.

Pablo Mari was also feeling unwell although that shouldn’t impact the squad for the trip to the King Power Stadium, while Granit Xhaka is still on the road to recovery as he targets a 2022 return.

Rodgers will be hoping to have duo James Justin and Wilfred Ndidi back for the weekend after the pair resumed training, although neither made the squad for their Carabao Cup penalty success over Brighton. Their other long-term absentee is centre-back Fofana.
