Arsenal predicted lineup vs Leicester: 4-4-2 with Lacazette?

Midfielders

Thomas Partey (CM) – When you can rest Partey for Carabao Cup matches and get through unscathed, it’s a happy day. Wrap the man in cotton wool and give him Premier League fixtures to feed off all season long.

Looked so much freer and more progressive against Villa with the addition of a certified midfielder alongside him.

Sambi Lokonga (CM) Which is why Sambi Lokonga should be in the starting lineup, without any doubt. Arteta gave the pair balanced roles alongside each other with neither having to unnecessarily cover full-back slots all game, and the result was a vastly improved showing with greater control and central pressing.

Beyond that, the Belgian was excellent in midfield and performances like that should be rewarded. Arteta has no reason to change things, right?

Alexandre Lacazette (AM) – There has been plenty of discussion about Arteta’s use of a 4-4-2 in the previous Premier League outing (it was much more like a 4-2-3-1 with Lacazette occasionally adopting a second striker role) and it looks like that is set to stay.

Lacazette will be tasked with bridging the gap between midfield and attack, generally being a sh*thouse, and helping to build triangles in central areas.
