In terms of who can afford Aubameyang, attentions are immediately drawn to Paris Saint-Germain over in Ligue 1.

It’s been noted that his preference would be to move to France where his mother lives, and while a romantic return to St Etienne has been mooted, they are also fighting relegation and can’t come close to affording his salary.

At present there is nothing linking Aubameyang to PSG. Maurcio Pochettino boasts the most desirable front three in world football and even with Kylian Mbappe looking like he’s heading off to Real Madrid in the summer, their focus on a replacement would surely be elsewhere.

The Erling Haaland’s of this world (well, there is only one of him but you catch the drift) will be on their minds, and even then the club will wait until the summer to be active.

Pochettino’s brand of football does not cater to Aubameyang’s skillset and as much as the move may suit the Arsenal man, and Arsenal, it’s incredibly unlikely. If links do begin to emerge, you’re best avoiding them.

PSG likelihood: 0.5/10
