Arsenal’s attack showed some signs that they could kick on last season. Emile Smith Rowe was throw into the deep end against Chelsea last season and hasn’t looked back since; eight Premier League goals this season speaks to the step up that he’s taken.

Bukayo Saka has come into form the last few weeks and Odegaard continues to show why Real Madrid were so keen to sign him when he was only 16.

The front line has been energetic and dynamic, largely due to the youthfulness of the players slotting in. Yet the experience of Alexandre Lacazette can’t be overlooked. He has shown great professionalism in drowning out the noise caused by the Aubameyang debacle and has done more than fill in the star striker’s boots.

He has led the high press from the front, scored and assisted key goals, dropped deep to link play and has come into his own as Arsenal captain. He’s done it all. Off the field, contract talks appear to have stalled indicating that Arsenal may have to dip into the market sooner rather than later for his reinforcement and eventual replacement.

All signs do point to a summer farewell. And with Arsenal desperate to flog Aubameyang this window, should they succeed then this position becomes vitally important, very quickly. Especially with Folarin Balogun on his way out and Eddie Nketiah attracting interest from across Europe.
