Arsenal Re-sign Aaron Ramsey From Juventus

Here it is again. This one never goes away.

The reasons for that are quite clear: supporters remember Aaron Ramsey’s time in north London fondly and despite not being able to get a kick for Juventus, he’s still a fine box-to-box midfielder who would suit Arsenal’s double pivot.

"He’s also leaving Turin this window. Massimiliano Allegri said it himself: “Ramsey, he returned today after we had given him a few days off to work, to train separately, in England. In any case, he’s an outgoing player.”"

Premier League sides Burnley and Newcastle have apparently been in contact. Ramsey is not said to be keen on either.

It is the Arsenal links that keep cropping up though, much like the same points of him being on an astronomical £325k-per-week salary and having a torrid injury record. If it was going to work then it’d have to be so heavily on Arsenal’s terms that there is no chance Ramsey would ever agree to it.

Firstly, no more than a deal until the end of the season. And secondly, that salary needs reducing by around two thirds for there to be any consideration to it. For a player at 31 years old looking for what will likely be his last ‘big’ move, those terms will not exactly woo him.

The deal won’t work. No deal will that suits all parties.

Yet, if there is anyone who understands Ramsey’s qualities then it’s probably the guy who lined up next to him in midfield when he had his best ever season en route to lifting an FA Cup. Remeber that?
