1. Adam Hlozek – Sparta Prague

We know what Arteta wants from a center forward: greater presence and physicality, the ability and willingness to play closer to midfield and then drive into the box with pace and purpose to finish chances.

Adam Hlozek has the potential to be an unbelievable signing offering every single one of these characteristics.

The Czech international – often fielded as a second striker but able to play across the front or deeper – stands at 6’1, boasting a more solid physical profile than the aggressive but fairly diminutive, by comparison, Alexandre Lacazette. His stats immediately catch the eye. Hlozek has scored six league goals in 18 outings this season but has registered 12 assists – all the usual non-top five league tax applies. Of course.

A creative No. 10 with 12 assists would be having a great campaign, yet Hlozek’s output comes from predominately a second striker position, indicating special playmaking ability. His profile suits the connective and physical central axis that glues the other forwards all together.

Admittedly, his goal tally is somewhat low. Strikers have to score goals and Lacazette’s primary criticism has been his own low goal tally. However, while the Frenchman has never been a 20 goal striker since he moved to north London, Hlozek is only 19 years old and has plenty of time to refine his already impressive game. In the future he could be the last piece that Arsenal’s front line need to take the step to the next level as he continues fine-tuning his game over the coming years.

Raul Sanllehi was condemned for the dubious deals and dealings that occurred on his watch. While he did not fulfill his role, at all, the importance of needing to ‘outsmart the market’ rings true even today. Arsenal’s rebuild has focused on buying potential. With these three strikers on the list, they can continue to do so.
