4. Armando Broja – Chelsea

Age: 20
Contract expiry: 2026
Rumoured fee: £20m

A Chelsea player! But he’s on loan at Southampton…so it doesn’t count.

Indeed, a left-field option who has bags of potential and is making his mark on the Premier League at the tender age of 20 is one Armando Broja.

Now, Arsenal need established strikers who will move the needle for them, ideally the minute the step through the door. Broja won’t do that. What he will do, however, is grow into a top striker in a few years’ time and given Arsenal are going to lose three/all of their strikers by the time the summer comes around they will need some balance in their options.

Broja has netted five goals for the Saints this season and is still raw in many facets, but his work off the ball has been superb and stands out among an increasingly impressive profile. Being part of a Ralph Hasenhuttl team means you will not get a sniff unless you can press relentlessly, and the Albanian sits in the 92nd percentile for successful pressures as well as the 91st for interceptions.

He’s not only doing it, he’s doing it well.

There is work to be done with how he holds the ball up, but he does possess the physical capacity to excel in that department once he starts using his body better. With the ball at feet there are no such concerns, as his brutish approach is balanced with cool finishing and composure in tight areas.

A real prospect and one who looks set to have a fine career.
