Arsenal to complete another striker loan transfer before deadline
As fans desperately refresh their online news sources for inklings of the latest incoming signing, most of what appears for them is that of another Arsenal departure.
It’s all about the centre-forward, isn’t it?
The position that has been on everyone’s lips all winter has an ever narrowing window of opportunity to be bolstered, with precious little time remaining for Arsenal to pull out a last-minute surprise.
Known for leaving their business late into the window, this time around it will be very late again if any new signings are to arrive. Going the other way, however, there have been no such issues.
Arsenal to complete another striker loan transfer before deadline with Niklaj Moller set to join Dutch side FC Den Bosch until the end of the season
A number of young talents bid farewell to north London in the summer to varying degrees of success. Many of the academy loanees struggled for minutes at their temporary homes, prompting Arsenal to recall a number of them.
One of those was Nikolaj Moller, the Swedish striker dubbed ‘the new Zlatan’, whose loan move to German third tier side FC Viktoria Koln did not pan out as hoped. While Moller still netted three goals in 13 appearances, minutes were hard to come by and he was brought back to London Colney this month.
Chris Wheatley reports that a new club has been found for him, with the 19-year-old set to join Dutch side FC Den Bosch until the end of the season. The club, who are in the second division of Dutch football, currently sit 14th in the Eerste Divisie table, just six points above the relegation zone having played two more matches than 18th place Helmond Sport.
Thought that Moller might replace Folarin Balogun in Kevin Betsy’s Under-23 side, it instead appears as if the team will see the season out with Mika Biereth and Khayon Edwards as their options.
Moller joins Tyreece John-Jules in being recalled before moving out on loan again, with the fellow striker linking up with Darren Moore at Sheffield Wednesday. Another player recalled, Miguel Azeez, is yet to find a new side this month.
He’s not the only striker making a loan move out of the club either, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang close to sealing a temporary switch to Barcelona until the end of the season. Numerous strikers leaving, with none appearing to be heading in the other direction.
