Arsenal: 5 forwards in line for summer departures

2. Reiss Nelson

Another player who most will have forgotten about, Reiss Nelson’s time at Feyenoord hasn’t quite been the breakout top-flight season he or Arsenal will have been hoping for.

Starting only three league matches all season for the Dutch club, and registering the solitary assist in that time, Nelson hasn’t kicked on yet, prompting his temporary manager to dish up an honest assessment of him.

"“The talent is there, but what Reiss still struggles with is creating big chances for himself or his teammates,” said Slot. “You see a lot of skill, speed and agility, but the final push is still missing. Then it’s just not a finish or just not an assist. “I don’t think he is much of a goal scorer anyway. I don’t see him doing that much in training either, but at Hoffenheim, in the Bundesliga, he scored seven goals. That’s excellent.”"

Barring a late season resurgence it doesn’t look like Feyenoord will be wanting to take him on permanently. Someone else might, although with one year left on his deal come the summer it won’t be a fee to shout home about.
