Midfielders

Thomas Partey (CM) – Back from his ridiculous and unnecessary suspension – partly because the first tackle wasn’t a yellow card and partly because the second one definitely was – the hope is now that Partey can go on a long run of starts in this team to fire Arsenal up the table.

Granit Xhaka (CM) – If this pairing can stay fit (and on the pitch) the whole way through until Everton on the final day then Arsenal stand a real chance of securing top four.

This is well and by far the best double pivot at the club, and considering there are only four central midfielders to choose from, they had better keep that in tact.

Martin Odegaard (AM) – The Norwegian is the technical leader in this team. His elegance in the middle of the park will also be crucial on Thursday as a stubborn and excellently drilled Wolves defensive shape will require the finest of vision to break down.

Keeping space to a premium and defending in a 5-4-1, Odegaard will have to be on the top of his game to penetrate Wolves’ lines.
