People have their own way of seeing the Premier League fixtures. Some people pick and choose the matches they’d begrudgingly accept defeat in, some go one at a time, and some bundle games together. However February was viewed for Arsenal fans, it was a roaring success.

Originally penciled in to have just two games across the entire month, an away trip to Molineux and a home visit of Brentford, the points tally that felt achievable and fair would have been either four or the whole package.

The rearranged home tie with Wolves was then found a slot in midweek, and looking at the trio of games to come, seven points would have probably been taken if offered beforehand.

Such is Arsenal’s home form and increasing dominance that, unless it’s Liverpool, a draw at home should never be contemplated as an acceptable result. Arsenal just be eyeing victories over everyone they play at the Emirates. So, to have come away from February with nine points from three games, including taking six off a top four rival, constitutes a perfect month.

Arsenal start mini Premier League season in perfect fashion with three wins in February alongside individual and collective improvements

So far, so very good.

These ‘cup finals’ to finish the season have got off to their best possible start, even if all three games were won by a single goal advantage. Performances are still at a high level, so the scorelines provide no reason to be concerned. It’s all about the three points.

That dramatic 2-1 win over Wolves also saw Arsenal banish some demons under Arteta by securing their first Premier League win having been trailing at half-time. It only took 20 attempts.

Individual performances have also provided plenty of reason for cheer, with Thomas Partey playing outstandingly well as the lone No. 6 in this system, just as Martin Odegaard looks a class above the Premier League at the moment, let alone the best player in this team.

On the whole Arsenal are dominating matches far more, capable now of playing their football from the first minute to the last as opposed to fits and spurts earlier in the campaign while they developed tactically and improved their fitness levels.

All of this while Tottenham lost three of their five matches in February, Manchester United dropped six points in total, West Ham drew two games, and Wolves fell further away. Everyone will slip up here and there, but in isolation this month went about as swimmingly as it could have for the Gunners.

dark. Next. 3 risks with current 4-3-3

Whether it will be viewed as 3/18ths of the way there, or one quarter of the way there in terms of months left in the season, Arsenal have started this almost mini-season as positively as they could have.
