Arsenal: 3 standout individual performances vs Watford
By Krish Ajmani
1. Bukayo Saka
Is there anyone else who could make top spot? The pure elegance Bukayo Saka showed had fans out of their seats. He was untouchable on the day. He glided past players left and right, displaying the dazzling dribbling we have all come to expect and love from him.
Watford’s narrow defending meant that the winger had all the space he wanted. On several occasions the ball was too slow to get out to him, with that short delay resulting in the opposition defenders doubling and tripling up on him. Yet, such was his confidence and such is his ability, that he ghosted by any and every defender that dared to face him.
He completed every take-on he attempted in the first half, completed every pass, won all but one of his duels, and didn’t miss the target with any of his shots at goal.
Both physical and mental fatigue earlier in the season had some questioning whether a brief spell on the sidelines would serve him well. Arteta decided to stick with Little Chili and everyone can see why. He is world class in the making.
To have this level of talent and effectively be at the crawling stage of his career is unfathomable. He’s only 20 years old. He will get better.
